Beyond Reality

Since VR and other new media technologies began attracting attention, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) has continuously exhibited works and publicized newly-presented themes every year. New media contents, which have continued to develop slowly, are now attempting to expand more fully and in earnest, in form and content. However, because opportunities for audiences to access the work are still limited, the flow and values of change have been expanding slowly.

In response, the festival aims to increase points of contact with the audience in 2020. It also aims to organize a system that allows viewers to experience the contents at all times. Selected 360VR contents will be made available for access on the online platform SK Telecom Jump VR (domestic access only).

In addition, information about festivals around the world and a talk program with accurate translation and subtitles that features outstanding artists speaking about their concept and production process have been prepared. The focus was on establishing a base that could contribute to the building of infrastructure for new media creation.
