Full support for genre film production through NAFF awards with 500 million KRW budget
Increased cash awards in the production cost support category,
newly founded Asian Discovery Award, Korean Discovery Award,
SBA Award and C-47 Award in the post-production support category
BIFAN NAFF presents an award to support outstanding projects in production to discover Asian genre film projects and expand the base of genre film production. During the NAFF period, the jury will hold individual meetings with the selected projects of NAFF and select excellent projects through fair evaluation. There will be three types of awards - cash awards for production cost support, post-production support, and in-kind support. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony of B.I.G.
NAFF decided to focus on supporting genre films and genre filmmakers who are having difficulties in the production process due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and significantly expand the funding to build the cooperation process. The prize amount for the Bucheon Award has been increased from 15 million KRW to 20 million KRW, the B.I.G NAFF Award has been increased from 10 million KRW to 15 million KRW, and the B.I.G Korean Awards has been increased from 5 million KRW to 10 million KRW. In addition, in order to support new directors, that will instill fresh ideas to genre films, two new award categories are added - Asian Discovery Award and Korean Discovery Award.
In addition, NAFF signed a post-production support contract with SBA worth 300 million KRW to discover outstanding video content and expand the genre film base and signed a business agreement with C-47 to support post-production worth 30 million KRW. Moreover, NAFF continues to support post-production with Mocha Chai Laboratories in Singapore. B.I.F will support the film industry to cope with difficult times and build a stronger production base.
